Located in Ortaköy, Istanbul, Medico Appratment House offers a living space of 170 square meters. The contrast provided by choosing light tones on the walls and dark tones on the floor brought a spacious atmosphere to the house. Instead of separating the corridor from the living room with a wall, a stylish design consisting of mirrors was preferred. Thus, besides the limitation of the spaces, the living room was made to feel more spacious and the simple living room design was moved.
Glossy surfaces are used in the kitchen. Although dark colors are used on the counter, a fresh atmosphere is brought by the reflection of the light. Spot lighting is used in geometric panels to create integrity with the kitchen design.
Black and white colors dominate the bathroom. Again, the design is balanced by using glossy surfaces. A mirror with LED lights is preferred, thus preventing the feeling of darkness that can be caused by the matte black flooring behind the bathtub. In the master bathroom, a contrast of light and dark colors is provided. Rectangular ceramics were preferred both on the floor and on the walls, and the bathroom was evaluated as a whole.
A simple yet elegant design has been created by using velvet textures in the bedroom, where the dark floor is dominant. Ceilings are made to feel higher, creating a relaxing, dim atmosphere with pendant lighting. A dressing area is created right next to the bedroom. The dressing room is hidden by using a mirror at the door. At the same time, the mirror used has also become functional.
There are two children’s rooms in the house. One of them is dominated by pink color and various shapes are used on the wall, cabinets and lighting to support creativity. In the other room, cream tones dominate. Colorful and different shapes were used on the walls to appeal to imagination and creativity. The wooden bookcase is designed as a niche inside the wall so that it does not take up extra space.
